XTRAN is Pennington's software engineering meta-tool, which marries compiler and expert system technologies to provide rule-driven automation of the analysis, improvement, re-engineering, and translation of assemblers, 3GLs, 4GLs, XML, HTML, and proprietary, scripting, data base, and Domain Specific languages.  XTRAN also provides powerful text processing capabilities.

XTRAN can provide analysis, re-engineering, and translation of many VMS language dialects:

• VAX MACRO (assembler):  Analysis, translation to C/C++
• VMS Pascal:  Analysis, re-engineering, translation to C/C++
• VMS PL/I:  Analysis, re-engineering, translation to C/C++
• VMS Fortran:  Analysis, re-engineering, translation to C/C++

In addition, XTRAN's re-engineering capabilities can automate the process of changing the VMS dependencies in your code to accommodate Posix, Windows, or any other target platform.
